Transition at scale

How can the TCFD help governments and businesses reduce climate risks and achieve the goals of the Paris Agreement?

Since its formation at COP21 in Paris, the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) has caught the attention of regulators, businesses and investors.

Join CDP, the Climate Disclosure Standards Board, We Mean Business and Finance for Tomorrow for a morning event to hear from policymakers, companies and reporting experts exploring how the TCFD recommendations will bring about transition at scale.

In 2015 the G20 Heads of State asked the Financial Stability Board (FSB) to establish a Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) addressing the risks to financial stability that climate change creates within the global economy. The mandate of the Task Force was to develop a set of recommendations for voluntary and consistent climate-related financial risk disclosures. These would then be used by companies, investors and other financial stakeholders to provide high-quality information in their mainstream flings. The Task Force delivered its recommendations to the FSB and the G20 in June 2017.

Make Investments Green Again

To mark the two year anniversary of the Paris Climate Agreement at COP21, the European Movement-France, in partnership with the European Investment Bank, is hosting an afternoon of discussion and debate on the role of green investments in developing a more sustainable future for our planet, on Wednesday the 13th of December 2017.

Since the historic talks in December 2015 the progress made in the fight against climate change has suffered several blows, most notably the United States’ intention to withdraw from the agreement. Our event looks at how we can refocus global efforts and “Make Investments Green Again”.

With speakers from a variety of industries and backgrounds, this afternoon will explore the options available for investing in the projects of tomorrow, and how business leaders, political figures, actors from civil society, and members of the wider public can work together to build a greener future.
